The role is intrinsically linked to the University of Oregon’s All-Hazard Incident Management Team (IMT). This team comprises trained personnel from across campus, responsible for managing logistical, fiscal, planning, operational, safety, and campus-related aspects of incidents and emergencies, including outbreaks and pandemics. Mirroring the national Incident Command System (ICS) structure, the interviewee has attained Planning Section Chief Certification. Key responsibilities include maintaining incident documentation, resource management, objective updates in collaboration with the Incident Commander, and scheduling meetings during operational periods. The role also involves incident monitoring and organizing documentation for archival purposes. The past year has been exceptionally demanding, with the IMT involved in responses ranging from power outages and reunification efforts to severe weather events, labor disputes, and demonstrations. The dedication and effectiveness of the small but highly capable team are a significant source of pride, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and camaraderie in demanding professional environments.

Married to their husband Anthony for 11 years, they share their home with two beloved cats, Lucille and George Michael.
