Velocity Dance Center is more than just a dance studio; it’s a vibrant community where dancers and families connect in a fun and supportive environment. We host monthly special events designed to bring our dance tribe together, fostering friendships and shared experiences outside of regular classes. Our year is packed with exciting activities, including creative parents-only painting nights, exclusive VDC events like our popular Chester’s Party Barn gathering, opportunities to give back through volunteering at the Regional Food Bank, engaging family fitness nights, playful park playdates, and our much-anticipated anniversary party! Many of these velocity dance events are offered free of charge, making them accessible for the whole family to participate and enjoy.
At Velocity Dance Center, we understand the importance of creating a positive and confidence-building environment for our dancers. That’s why our classes, costuming, and music selections are carefully curated to be “Dad Approved.” This approach ensures that our velocity dance instruction is not only technically excellent but also age-appropriate and helps dancers develop poise and self-assurance both on stage and in the classroom. We believe in fostering a classy and respectful atmosphere where every dancer can thrive.
Velocity Dance Center proudly participates in the National Honor Society for Dance Arts™ (NHSDA). This prestigious national program recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in velocity dance and dance education. Being part of NHSDA through Velocity Dance Center provides our dancers with national recognition and opportunities within the broader dance community.
Our annual Rise Ceremony is a special, candle-lit event dedicated to celebrating our dancers as they progress from 6th grade through their senior year. This ceremony acknowledges their hard work and achievements in academics and the arts. During the Rise Ceremony, dancers also have a unique opportunity to nominate their parents for a special award, recognizing the incredible dedication and support families provide to their dancer’s velocity dance journey. The ceremony is followed by a celebratory reception for dancers and their families to enjoy together.
For dancers looking to develop leadership skills, our Leadership Program offers a structured path to growth. This program is designed to equip dancers to become leaders not only within the studio but also in their schools and communities. Participants in the leadership program engage with success literature, participate in community volunteer work, and receive training to become effective classroom assistants. This selective program is open to qualified dancers aged 10 and up who are ready to take their velocity dance experience to the next level and cultivate valuable leadership qualities.
