Discover the Tremaine Dance Company: Elevate Your Dance Training

The Tremaine Performance Company (TPC) offers a unique opportunity to enhance your dance education alongside your regular studio classes. It’s designed to complement, not replace, your core dance training. Your dedication to your home studio remains paramount, and participation in TPC requires your teacher’s approval. This ensures a supportive and balanced approach to your dance development. Any potential conflicts arising between TPC and your home studio commitments will be addressed in consultation with your teacher, prioritizing your studio obligations. Maintaining your commitments to your local dance studio is essential throughout your time with the Company; failure to do so may result in dismissal from TPC.

Effective communication is crucial within the Tremaine Performance Company. Timely responses and clear communication are vital for meeting deadlines and ensuring seamless participation in all activities. Email and the Band app serve as the primary channels for all Company-related announcements and information. Whether you have a minor query or a significant concern, prompt communication via email to [email protected] is encouraged. Open lines of communication ensure a smooth and enriching experience for all members.

Upon joining TPC, you will receive a carefully curated class schedule from the Company Director. This schedule is thoughtfully designed to complement and enhance your individual training goals, providing you with diverse learning experiences and exposure to various dance styles and faculty expertise.

Tremaine Performance Company members may have the privilege to demonstrate or assist on stage, but this is solely at the discretion of the teaching faculty member and only upon invitation. Assisting is not guaranteed. When not assisting, TPC members are expected to actively participate in the ballroom, remaining visible and engaged with the same focus and energy they would bring to assisting. This active participation contributes to a positive and dynamic learning environment for all convention attendees.

To ensure TPC members receive focused and personalized feedback, the program emphasizes direct interaction and training from faculty during each convention city. Therefore, competing solos while a member of TPC is not deemed necessary for your development within the program. Specifically, Tremaine Performance Company members are not permitted to compete solos at Tremaine Semi-Finals, Summer Dance, or National Finals competitions. However, TPC members are welcome to compete with their home studio in all other categories. It is important to remember that when participating in cities where you are competing with your home studio, your studio commitments take precedence. This fosters teamwork and camaraderie within your studio environment. In such cities, TPC members will not assist classes but can still attend rehearsals and have the opportunity to perform in the Faculty Show. These cities will still count towards your seasonal attendance requirements for TPC.

Performance opportunities in the Faculty Show are determined by the Director’s discretion. Choreography for the Faculty Show will be accessible on the Tremaine Band App, allowing members to learn the routines prior to attending their first convention city. This preparation ensures that members are ready to fully participate in this exciting performance opportunity.

All music, choreography, costumes, and any other information related to Tremaine Dance Conventions and the Tremaine Performance Company are considered confidential and proprietary to Tremaine Dance Conventions. This information is exclusively for Tremaine Performance Company use. Any violation of this confidentiality will result in immediate dismissal from the Company. Protecting proprietary information is vital to maintaining the integrity of Tremaine Dance Conventions and the Tremaine Performance Company.

Tremaine Dance provides complimentary convention registration and admission for all active members of the Performance Company. However, TPC members are responsible for covering additional expenses, including but not limited to TPC uniforms (which include the TPC Tour Jacket and uniform pieces of your choice), costumes, meals, accommodation, and travel costs, as well as any home studio competition fees. Understanding these financial responsibilities is important for all prospective and current TPC members.

The Pre-Professional Program within TPC is specifically designed for dancers aged 18-21 who are exploring a professional dance career. While Pre-Pro members may be alumni of the Teen and Senior divisions, it is not a prerequisite. This program offers unique experiences, potentially including behind-the-scenes work with the administrative team and backstage crew during events, as well as leadership opportunities during rehearsals and classes. Not all Pre-Professional members will be asked to work at every event, and work schedules are determined by the Director and are not subject to change without prior approval. This program offers invaluable insight into the professional dance world.

All TPC members, along with their parents, chaperones, or guardians, are required to adhere to the Company “Code of Conduct.” This code outlines expected behavior and guidelines for all members. Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may lead to dismissal from the Company. The Code of Conduct will be provided to members upon acceptance and must be signed to acknowledge understanding and agreement prior to participation. For Teen and Senior program participants, it is mandatory to have at least one chaperone aged 21 or older present while attending any convention city during the Tour. Each program participant must register their accompanying chaperone by emailing [email protected] before arriving in each city. Adherence to the Code of Conduct ensures a positive and respectful environment for all participants.
