For our family, Liv DanceArts has become more than just a dance studio; it’s a cherished part of our lives. Before finding Liv DanceArts, previously known as Professional Ballet School, our daughter explored a couple of other dance schools in the area. From the moment she stepped into their studio at the age of seven and experienced a ballet class with Kristen Portner, Liv DanceArts’ Artistic Director, we knew we had found the right place for her long-term dance journey. Ten years later, she is now a proud Liv DanceArts alumni, a testament to the studio’s lasting impact.
What began with ballet and jazz classes soon expanded into comprehensive training across various genres each week, including lyrical, contemporary, and hip-hop. Her dedication and passion led to her selection as an original member of Liv DanceArts’ competitive dance team when it launched in 2013. This commitment demanded extra time, effort, and focus, all of which she embraced wholeheartedly within the supportive environment of Liv DanceArts.
Our family has always deeply valued Liv DanceArts’ mission of prioritizing quality dance education over quantity. This intimate dance community places a strong emphasis on technique and individual dancer development. For our daughter, Liv DanceArts became a haven, a place where she felt a true sense of belonging with peers who shared her love for dance. It was her “other home,” a safe and nurturing space to grow.
The teaching faculty at Liv DanceArts is truly exceptional. Their instructors bring extensive dance backgrounds and education, and we consistently admired their commitment to nurturing dancers into accomplished young artists. We witnessed this dedication firsthand during their captivating winter and spring performances, as well as throughout the competitive season. These events became cherished family occasions, drawing loved ones together from near and far to support our daughter and the entire Liv DanceArts studio community.
The rigorous training and discipline our daughter acquired at Liv DanceArts, particularly under the mentorship of Kristen Portner, were instrumental in her acceptance into two of the nation’s most competitive dance college programs. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Commercial Dance at Pace University in NYC, a program that accepted only 40 students from over 1,000 applicants. This remarkable achievement is a direct result of the solid foundation and opportunities provided by Liv DanceArts.
Liv DanceArts provided our daughter with the wings to pursue her dreams, and we will be forever grateful for the exceptional dance education and the enduring friendships she forged during her time there. It’s more than a studio; it’s a launchpad for aspiring dancers.
