Props are an integral part of many dance routines, adding visual flair and enhancing storytelling. To ensure smooth transitions and maintain the competition’s pace, each studio is allotted a 1-minute timeframe for prop placement and removal. This efficiency is crucial for keeping our national dance competition, Inspire National Dance, running smoothly. Representatives from each dance studio are responsible for managing their props within this timeframe. Should your prop setup require more than one minute, it’s imperative to consult with the backstage manager in advance. Failure to adhere to the time limit may unfortunately result in point deductions or additional fees. For complex productions, we understand that extra time may be necessary; this will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the backstage manager to ensure fairness across all performances in our national dance event.
To maintain a safe and clean dance environment at Inspire National Dance, certain restrictions apply to prop usage. Liquids, gels, glitter, or any substances that could compromise the dance surface are strictly prohibited. Similarly, for safety and audience consideration, props cannot be thrown or projected off the stage’s front. We also ask that prop construction be handled offsite to minimize backstage congestion and ensure safety. Please consult with the Stage Manager if you require specific accommodations. Regarding size limitations, performers are not permitted to stand on props exceeding 6’6” in height, and props over 10’6” tall cannot be guaranteed stage compatibility. Please note that Inspire National Dance does not provide power sources for props, and we cannot assume responsibility for props left unattended or overnight at the venue.
Dressing rooms at Inspire National Dance are assigned to each participating studio. To maintain order and security, we request that all studio representatives, parents, dancers, and belongings remain within their designated dressing room areas. Inspire National Dance cannot be held liable for any items left in dressing rooms, either during or after the event. To ensure a comfortable environment for everyone, male individuals are not permitted in the assigned female dressing rooms. Separate, designated spaces will be provided for male dancers and studio personnel. We greatly appreciate studio owners taking a moment at the end of each day to ensure their dressing rooms are tidy, organized, and that all personal items have been collected. This helps us maintain a pleasant and respectful atmosphere for all participants at our national dance competition.
To show our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of studio directors and teachers, Inspire National Dance provides a Studio Hospitality Suite at each event. This dedicated space offers a tranquil retreat where directors and teachers can relax, enjoy refreshments, and have a coffee break amidst the excitement of the national dance competition. Furthermore, to ensure optimal viewing for these key individuals, 2-3 rows at the front of the auditorium are reserved exclusively for studio directors and teachers. We believe these small gestures contribute to a positive and supportive experience for everyone involved in Inspire National Dance.
Inspire National Dance prides itself on being a family-friendly event. Therefore, we maintain a strict policy regarding performance content. Sexually explicit dance routines, costumes, or music are unequivocally prohibited. Any performance deemed to contain inappropriate content or profanity, as determined by Inspire Management, will incur a minimum 5-point penalty. If a routine explores a sensitive subject matter that might not be suitable for all audiences, we kindly request that you inform the event Director beforehand to ensure appropriate consideration and guidance. Our aim is to create a welcoming and respectful environment for dancers of all ages and their families at our national dance competition.
At Inspire National Dance, we encourage studios to showcase their talent extensively. There is no limit to the number of routines a studio may enter in our national dance competition. All routines presented will be adjudicated, providing valuable feedback and recognition for the dancers’ hard work and artistry.
Re-performances of routines are generally not permitted at Inspire National Dance, and are subject to adjudication only. The exception to this rule is in cases of technical difficulties caused directly by INSPIRE. For any specific concerns or additional information regarding re-performances, please consult with the backstage manager. We strive to ensure a fair and smooth competition for all participants in our national dance event.
To protect the performances and the integrity of our national dance competition, video recording and photography are restricted during performances. Video cameras are strictly prohibited in the auditorium during performances. The use of any type of camera or video recording equipment during the competition, other than by official Inspire National Dance personnel, may result in point deductions, routine disqualification, or even studio disqualification. We kindly request that you inform parents and attendees of this rule to avoid any potential conflicts or misunderstandings. Flash photography and video recording are permitted only during the awards ceremonies, allowing you to capture those memorable moments of recognition and celebration at Inspire National Dance.
Liability Disclaimer: Inspire National Dance, its staff, the venue (hotel, theater, or competition site), will not be held responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur to individuals participating in or attending our events. It is the responsibility of dance teachers and studio personnel to thoroughly inform their students and attendees about these rules and liability policies.
