Week 9 of Dancing with the Stars Season 2019 brought the house down with a spectacular celebration of iconic boy bands and girl groups. With only six couples left vying for the coveted Mirrorball trophy, the stakes were higher than ever. Adding to the excitement, each celebrity contestant and their professional partner had to master not one, but two routines in a single night, pushing their limits and testing their versatility. To spice things up even further, NSYNC’s own Joey Fatone joined the judging panel alongside regulars Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba, bringing his boy band expertise to the ballroom. Fans were on the edge of their seats, eager to see which couples would impress the judges and secure their spot in the competition, and who would face elimination. Let’s dive into the dazzling dances, scores, and the all-important Dancing with the Stars results from this electrifying week!
James Van Der Beek & Emma Slater
Kicking off the night with high energy, James Van Der Beek and Emma Slater aimed to maintain their momentum after achieving a perfect score the previous week. They tackled a Jive for their first performance, a dance style admittedly challenging for them. Judge Len Goodman acknowledged the difficulty, but praised their effort as “good.” Joey Fatone complimented James, saying he “makes it look easy,” while Bruno Tonioli suggested more dynamism in his legwork.

Sean Spicer and Jenna Johnson entered Week 9 knowing they needed to elevate their performances to climb up from the bottom of the leaderboard. For their first dance, they chose the passionate Argentine Tango, incorporating a lift to demonstrate Sean’s progress. While the lift was executed without a hitch, it wasn’t enough to fully win over the judges. Joey Fatone noted Sean’s strong frame, but all judges concurred that his footwork still needed significant improvement.
