Discover the Joy of Movement at Balance Dance Studio

At Balance Dance Studio, we believe in the transformative power of dance to ignite joy and self-expression in young individuals. For Miss Paula, the esteemed owner and director, instructing children in the art of dance transcends mere profession—it embodies a lifelong passion, a treasured vocation, and a profound honor. Boasting over four decades of immersive dance experience, Paula dedicates herself wholeheartedly to imparting her fervent love for movement to each and every student who graces the studio.

Paula’s journey in dance commenced in her formative years, nurtured by rigorous training in tap and jazz at her aunt’s esteemed studio. Her ardor for dance deepened exponentially upon her pivotal discovery of classical ballet at the age of 13. Throughout her illustrious career, she has immersed herself in a rich tapestry of dance genres, encompassing classical ballet, tap, modern, and jazz, with a pronounced emphasis on the dynamism of jazz. Her academic pursuits include Snow College, where she majored in Dance, distinguishing herself as the president of the prestigious Orchesis dance company and earning accolades as a celebrated soloist and choreographer. Further refining her expertise at the University of Utah, she proudly performed as a member of the Crimson Line Dance Team, concurrently achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science, complemented by a minor in Health, and attaining certification as a high school educator.

Miss Paula’s unwavering commitment to dance education extends far beyond her personal practice. She holds the distinguished Master Teacher Level 1 certification in the Leap ‘N Learn Early Childhood Dance Program, underscoring her specialized proficiency in nurturing young dancers. Her extensive practical experience encompasses over two decades within private studio environments and three years in public educational institutions, where she also served as the coach for the Bingham High School Minerettes. Adding to her holistic approach to physical well-being and movement, Paula is a certified Yoga Instructor (200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training), with supplementary certifications in Kundalini Yoga and Kids Yoga.

Choreography stands as a genuine source of delight for Paula, who expresses daily gratitude for the privilege of pursuing her artistic passion. Following 18 years of dedicated teaching within her home studio, the inauguration of Balance Dance Studio in a purpose-designed space marks the realization of a long-cherished aspiration. This new facility represents a deeply meaningful gift, and Paula eagerly anticipates reciprocating the unwavering support extended by her community over the years. Beyond the realm of dance, Paula finds rejuvenation in hiking amidst scenic landscapes, practicing meditation, and cherishing moments with her family. Her intrinsic passion lies in forging connections with individuals and guiding them to unlock their inherent joy through movement at Balance Dance Studio. Paula, alongside her husband Casey, has been a resident of Alpine for 25 years and is the devoted mother of four children.
