At Awakenings Pole Dance, we are dedicated to providing a welcoming and enriching environment for all our students. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, we have established studio policies that prioritize safety, respect, and effective class management. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines.
Punctuality and Late Arrival Policy
We encourage all students to arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to their scheduled class. This allows ample time for check-in and preparation, ensuring you’re relaxed and ready to fully participate. A proper warm-up is crucial for injury prevention and effective pole dance training. For liability reasons and to uphold the safety of all participants, students arriving more than 15 minutes after the class commencement may not be permitted to join the session. Our instructors are committed to ensuring everyone’s safety and reserve the right to request late students to warm up independently or reschedule their class. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in respecting these decisions, as they are made with your well-being in mind.
Refunds and Class Transfers
Please note that all purchases at Awakenings Pole Dance, including class cards and other offerings, are non-refundable. This policy applies to trial classes, aerial and pole dance classes, class packs, workshops, party deposits, and event tickets. However, we understand that circumstances may change. Unused class cards or credits can be generously donated to another student or transferred to a different student account if needed. Most class credits are valid for a period of two years from the date of purchase. We kindly advise you to be mindful of your class pack’s expiration date and to schedule your classes accordingly to maximize your pole dance journey with us.
Party deposits are also non-refundable. Should you need to adjust your party booking, we gladly offer complimentary rescheduling for requests made 30 days or more before the original event date. Rescheduling within 30 days of the event is possible for a $50 fee.
Cancellation and No-Show Protocol
Given the limited space available in our classes, timely cancellations are essential to allow other students the opportunity to participate. We require students to cancel their class bookings at least TWO HOURS before the scheduled start time. Cancellations made within this two-hour window will unfortunately result in the forfeiture of the class credit. Similarly, “no-shows,” where a student fails to attend a booked class without prior cancellation, will also lead to the loss of the class credit. We appreciate your adherence to this policy, ensuring fair access to classes for everyone in our vibrant pole dance community.
Alcohol Consumption
Your safety is paramount at Awakenings Pole Dance. Therefore, we strictly prohibit the consumption of alcohol before participating in any physical activities at our studio. Pole dancing and aerial classes inherently involve physical exertion and potential risks, and alcohol consumption significantly elevates these risks. Any student arriving at the studio under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to participate in class and will not be eligible for a refund or credit. We thank you for prioritizing your safety and the safety of your fellow students.
Recommended Attire
Comfort and freedom of movement are key to an effective and enjoyable pole dance or aerial class. We recommend students wear clothing that allows for ease of motion. For pole dance classes, shorts or bikini bottoms are advisable as exposed skin on the legs is crucial for grip and technique. Leggings are recommended for aerial classes to provide skin protection. Please refrain from applying lotions or creams to your skin on the day of your class, as these can hinder grip and potentially create a safety hazard on the pole or aerial equipment.
Studio Conduct and Inclusivity
Awakenings Pole Dance prides itself on fostering an inclusive and safe space for individuals of all backgrounds and identities. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying or discrimination of any kind. We are committed to creating a respectful and supportive environment where every student feels valued and empowered on their pole dance journey.
Age Participation Guidelines
We welcome students under the age of 18 to participate in our classes. However, for students under 18, we require a parent or legal guardian to be present for the first class to sign a participation waiver on their behalf. This ensures we have proper consent and safeguards for our younger students.
Photography and Videography
We encourage students to capture their progress and celebrate their achievements! Students are welcome to film and take pictures of themselves during their pole dance or aerial classes. We kindly request that you be mindful of those around you and avoid filming others in the background without their explicit consent. If you have any concerns about being filmed, even unintentionally, please inform your instructor. We will gladly assist you in finding a spot in the studio where you can feel comfortable and remain outside of camera angles. We strive to ensure everyone feels respected and comfortable while enjoying their time at Awakenings Pole Dance.
