Selecting the appropriate attire for dance classes is essential for young dancers to move freely, comfortably, and safely. For pre-dance programs, specific dress codes often ensure uniformity and readiness for various dance styles. At ten-dance.com, we believe in setting our young students up for success from their very first class. This guide outlines the required attire for each of our Pre-Dance programs, ensuring your child is perfectly prepared to step into the world of dance.
Ballet Attire for Pre-Dance Programs
Ballet is a foundational dance form that benefits from specific attire to enhance movement and allow instructors to observe posture and technique. For our Pre-Dance Ballet classes, we have specific requirements for both female and male dancers.
Pre-Dance: Ballet Class Attire
For youth female dancers in Pre-Dance: Ballet, the required attire includes:
- Dress: A Capezio Keyhole Back Tutu Dress in Black. This classic ballet dress allows for a full range of motion while maintaining a traditional ballet aesthetic.
- Tights: Capezio Ultra Soft Transition Tights in ballet pink. Ballet pink tights create a clean line and allow dancers to move seamlessly.
Youth male dancers in Pre-Dance: Ballet require:
- Attire: Black athletic pants or shorts and a white t-shirt or tank top. Comfortable and flexible clothing that allows for a full range of motion is key.
- Shoes: Capezio Hanami Ballet Shoe in Black. Black ballet shoes offer a classic and clean look for male dancers.
Pre-Dance: Creative Steps II-III Attire
For Creative Steps II-III, the attire shifts slightly to reflect the developmental stage of the dancers:
Youth female dancers need:
- Dress: Capezio Keyhole Back Tutu Dress in Light Blue. A soft light blue color distinguishes this level while maintaining the tutu style.
- Tights: Capezio Ultra Soft Transition Tight in dancers skin tone. Skin tone tights provide a streamlined look and are often preferred for performances.
Youth male dancers in Creative Steps II-III maintain the same comfortable and practical attire:
- Attire: Black athletic pants or shorts and a white t-shirt or tank top.
- Shoes: Capezio Hanami Ballet Shoe in Black.
Parents of dancers in Creative Steps II are asked to wear comfortable clothing as they participate in parts of their dancer’s class.
