Fall 2024 Events at Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy

As summer transitions into fall, Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy gears up for a season full of activities. Here are the key dates for Fall 2024:

August 2024: End of Summer and Academy Closure

August 23rd (Friday): Last day of Summer camps.
August 29th (Thursday): Last day of Summer classes.
August 30th & 31st (Friday & Saturday): Academy closed in preparation for the Fall semester.

September 2024: Fall Classes Begin & Special Events

September marks the exciting beginning of Fall classes and a variety of engaging events at Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy.

September 1st-2nd (Sunday & Monday): Academy Closed for Labor Day weekend.
September 3rd (Tuesday): Fall Classes Begin and Preschool Open House. Please note there will be No Preschool Activity Camp or Lunch Bunch on this day.
September 4th (Wednesday): First day of Preschool, Lunch Bunch, and Preschool Activity Camp.
September 6th, 10th, 13th, 17th, 20th, 24th, & 27th (Fridays & Tuesdays): Indoor Play Park from 11:30am – 12:30pm. Walk-ins are welcome for this fun activity at Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy.
September 14th & 28th (Saturdays): Parents Night Out from 6:00pm-8:30pm. Enjoy a night off while your children have fun at the academy.
September 21st (Saturday): Elite Tumbling Workshop from 4:45pm-6:15pm. Enhance your tumbling skills with this specialized workshop.
September 21st (Saturday): Performing Company Picnic. A fun social event for our performing company members.
September 22nd (Sunday): Acrobatics and Tumbling Travel Team Practice from 1pm-4pm at the Training Center. Dedicated practice for our travel team.

October 2024: Halloween Fun & Parent Watch Week

October brings festive Halloween spirit and opportunities for parents to observe classes at Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy.

October 1st, 4th, 8th, 11th, 15th, 18th, 22nd, 25th & 29th (Tuesdays & Fridays): Indoor Play Park from 11:30am – 12:30pm. More opportunities for open play at Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy.
October 11th & 25th (Fridays): School’s Out Camp. Check the camp page for details and to register your child for a fun-filled day when school is out.
October 12th & 26th (Saturdays): Parents Night Out from 6:00pm-8:30pm. Pre-registration is required for these popular events.
October 19th (Saturday): Elite Tumbling Workshop from 4:45pm-6:15pm. Another chance to refine tumbling techniques.
October 20th (Sunday): Acrobatics and Tumbling Travel Team Practice from 1pm-4pm at the Training Center. Continuing training for our travel team.
October 24th-30th (Thursday-Wednesday): Dance Parent Watch Week (Recreational classes only – last 15 minutes of class). An opportunity for parents to see what their dancers have been learning.
October 24th-31st (Thursday-Thursday): Halloween Costume Week. Students are encouraged to wear their costumes to class for a fun, themed week.
October 31st (Thursday): Halloween – Academy closes early at 6:00 pm. Please note the adjusted hours on Halloween.

November 2024: Recital Fees Due & Thanksgiving Break

November includes important deadlines and a well-deserved Thanksgiving break at Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy.

November 1st (Friday): Dance department Recital fee due – November EFT. Please ensure recital fees are paid by this date.
November 1st, 5th, 8th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 22nd & 26th (Tuesdays & Fridays): Indoor Play Park from 11:30am – 12:30pm. Continued indoor play sessions.
November 3rd (Sunday): Daylight Savings Time – set clocks back. Remember to adjust your clocks.
November 9th & 23rd (Saturdays): Parents Night Out from 6:00pm-8:30pm. Pre-registration required.
November 11th (Monday): School’s Out Camp. See camp page for details.
November 11th (Monday): Veterans Day Holiday – Regular Class Schedule / No Preschool or Preschool Activity Camp. Regular classes are held, but preschool programs are closed.
November 11th (Monday): Nutcracker tickets on sale through Dance Ticketing. Get your tickets for the annual Nutcracker performance.
November 16th (Saturday): Elite Tumbling Workshop from 4:45pm-6:15pm. Another opportunity for tumbling skill development.
November 17th (Sunday): Nutcracker Full Cast rehearsal (Express, Troupe, PC) Times TBD – Training Center. Rehearsal for Nutcracker cast members.
November 17th (Sunday): Acrobatics and Tumbling Travel Team Practice from 1pm-4pm at the Training Center. Travel team practice continues.
November 28th-30th (Thursday-Saturday): Academy closed – Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday! Thursday Recreational classes are eligible to schedule 1 make-up class.

Winter at Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy is highlighted by the Nutcracker performance and Winter Break.

December 2024: Nutcracker Performances & Winter Break Begins

December is a festive month with performances and the start of Winter Break.

December 3rd, 6th, 10th, 13th, & 17th (Tuesdays & Fridays): Indoor Play Park from 11:30am – 12:30pm. Indoor play continues through December.
December 8th (Sunday): Nutcracker Full Cast rehearsal (Express, Troupe, PC) Times TBD – Training Center. Final rehearsals before the performances.
December 14th (Saturday): Parents Night Out from 6:00pm-8:30pm. Pre-registration required.
December 14th (Saturday): Nutcracker Dress rehearsal (Express, Troupe, PC) Times TBD – Century High School. Dress rehearsal at the performance venue.
December 15th (Sunday): Nutcracker Performance: Show 1 – 12pm / Show 2 – 4pm – Century High School. Don’t miss the magical Nutcracker performances!
December 15th (Sunday): Acrobatics and Tumbling Travel Team Practice from 1pm-4pm at the Training Center.
December 22nd (Sunday): Last day of gym and dance classes before Winter Break. End of classes before the break.
December 22nd (Sunday): Winter Drop N Shop 2:30pm – 6:30pm – MAIN BUILDING. A convenient event for holiday shopping.
December 23rd & 30th (Mondays): Winter Break camps – MONDAY ONLY. See camp page for details. Limited camp days during Winter Break.
December 23rd-31st (Monday-Tuesday): No regular classes. Mon, Fri and Sat Recreational classes are eligible to schedule 1 make-up class.
December 24th-29th (Tuesday-Sunday): Academy closed – Happy Holidays! NO PARENTS NIGHT OUT, PARTIES, CAMPS OR CLASSES. Academy fully closed for the main holiday week.

January 2025: Classes Resume & New Year Events

January marks the return to classes and registration for the Performing Arts Preschool.

January 1st-3rd (Wednesday-Friday): Academy closed.
January 4th (Saturday): Classes resume. Welcome back to classes!
January 7th (Tuesday): Performing Arts Preschool registration begins for the 2025-2026 school year. Early registration opens for our preschool program.
January 7th, 10th, 14th, 17th, 21st, 24th, 28th & 31st (Tuesdays & Fridays): Indoor Play Park 11:30am – 12:30pm. Indoor Play Park continues in the new year.
January 11th & 25th (Saturdays): Parents Night Out 6:00pm – 8:30pm. Pre-registration required.
January 18th (Saturday): Elite Tumbling Workshop 4:45pm-6:15pm.
January 19th (Sunday): Acrobatics and Tumbling Travel Team Practice 1pm-4pm at the Training Center.
January 20th (Monday): Martin Luther King Day- Regular Class Schedule. Regular classes are in session.

February 1st-14th (Saturday-Friday): Annual Valentine Sale – 20% off all apparel. Great deals on academy apparel.
February 4th, 7th, 11th, 14th, 18th, 21st, 25th & 28th (Tuesdays & Fridays): Indoor Play Park 11:30am – 12:30pm.
February 8th & 22nd (Saturdays): Parents Night Out 6:00pm – 8:30pm. Pre-registration required.
February 9th (Sunday): Acrobatics and Tumbling Travel Team Practice 1pm-4pm at the Training Center (changed from 16th). Please note date change for this practice.

March 2025: Recital Sign-Up Deadline & Spring Break

March brings recital deadlines and Spring Break at Westside Dance and Gymnastics Academy.

March 1st (Saturday): Gym Dept. Academy Gym Fest fee due- March EFT. Gym Fest fees are due.
March 1st (Saturday): Last day to sign up for Dance Recital. Deadline to register for the Dance Recital.
March 1st-31st (Saturday-Monday): Student Evaluations for Summer (conducted during regular classes). Summer evaluations take place throughout March.
March 4th, 7th, 11th, 14th, 18th & 21st (Tuesdays & Fridays): Indoor Play Park 11:30am – 12:30pm.
March 8th & 22nd (Saturdays): Parents Night Out 6:00pm – 8:30pm. Pre-registration required.

April 12th (Saturday): Spring Dance Showcase – TENTATIVE DATE. Please note this date is tentative.

June is a busy month with Gym Fest, Dance Recitals, and the start of Summer Camps.

June 3rd (Tuesday): Last Tuesday of Indoor Play Park before summer. End of Tuesday Indoor Play Park sessions until summer.
June 6th-8th (Friday-Sunday): Gym dept. Annual Gym Fest in lieu of classes. Fri, Sat and Sun Recreational classes – eligible to schedule 1 make-up; try to schedule in May. Gym Fest event replaces regular classes.
June 12th (Thursday): Last day of Preschool, Preschool Activity Camp and Lunch Bunch. End of preschool programs for the school year.
