Connecting St. Croix Falls, Centuria, Milltown, Luck, Frederic, Lewis, Siren, Webster, and Danbury, this trail is built upon a former railroad corridor, ensuring a generally level and wheelchair-accessible experience for all.
Spanning 47 miles, the southern segment of the Gandy Dancer Trail welcomes people-powered activities from spring through late fall. Its level grade and firmly packed limestone surface make it safe and inviting for individuals of all abilities. Visitors frequently enjoy hiking, running, and even geocaching adventures along the trail. It’s a popular spot for setting personal fitness goals, training for athletic events, daily bike rides, convenient work commutes, and leisurely walks.
For cyclists aged 16 and older, a Wisconsin State Trail Pass is required. These passes, available as both annual and daily options, can be purchased from designated vendors located along the Gandy Dancer Trail and at Polk and Burnett County Tourism Centers. Annual passes can also be conveniently acquired online through Friends of Gandy Dancer. It’s important to note that a state trail pass is not necessary for those hiking or running on the trail.
Dog owners are welcome to bring their leashed companions to enjoy the Gandy Dancer Trail, with the requirement that pets remain on leashes no longer than 8 feet and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.

Winter Trail Use Advisory: From December 1st to March 31st, ATV/UTVs are allowed on the trail when the ground is frozen. Snowmobiles are permitted when there is a groomed snow base of 4 inches and trails are officially open.
