Pack Smart for Your Yurt Adventure: What to Bring

To fully enjoy your Dancing Moose Yurt experience, remember to bring a few essentials. Bedding or sleeping bags and pillows are necessary for restful nights. Don’t forget food, water, washcloths, and garbage bags for your stay. We embrace a pack-in, pack-out philosophy, honoring the tradition of leaving the yurt and surrounding area even better than you found it. Before departing, please double-check that you have gathered all your belongings, including food items, spices, condiments, and coffee. A Yonder Yurt dumpster is available at our office near the park entrance for trash disposal. Please be aware that littering around the yurt or in the State Forest State Park will result in fines, so let’s keep this natural paradise pristine.

Important Notes for Your Off-Grid Getaway: What’s Not Included

Please note that Dancing Moose Yurt operates off-grid, enhancing your connection with nature. Therefore, showers and running water are not available at this location. Guests should plan to bring their own potable water for drinking and cooking. Alternatively, during warmer months, water can be collected from fill-up stations near North Michigan Reservoir. In winter, melting snow and filtering it provides a water source, and guests should bring their own filtration systems for this purpose. Embrace the opportunity to disconnect as there is no Wi-Fi or cell service at the yurt, offering a true digital detox. However, for safety and peace of mind, we highly recommend bringing a satellite phone, two-way radio, or Personal Locator Beacon in case of emergencies, especially when exploring the surrounding wilderness. Prepare for an unforgettable escape at Dancing Moose Yurt, where nature and comfort meet.
