Get Ready to Shine: Annual Dance Recital at Take Five Dance Academy!

Every year, students enrolled in our diverse dance programs at Take Five Dance Academy, from toddlers aged 3 and up, have a fantastic opportunity to showcase their hard work and passion on stage! Our annual dance production, held each June, is a much-anticipated highlight of our dance year. We are thrilled to announce the details for the upcoming recital, a spectacular event that celebrates our dancers’ achievements and brings our dance community together.

To ensure a smooth and organized production, we release information packets early in October. These packets are your go-to guide for everything recital-related, including costume prices, important show dates, class picture schedules, and other essential details you’ll need to know.

We understand that planning for the June production begins quite early in the dance year, even while we are still enjoying our December events. Costume payments are collected in late October to allow us to place orders promptly. Ordering early is crucial as it helps us secure costumes before the rush from thousands of other dance studios nationwide, ensuring timely arrivals and smoother preparations for all our Spring deadlines. This proactive approach helps us manage the busy Spring period which includes costume arrivals and distribution, class and individual picture days, program book creation, and more. We believe in providing you with ample notice so your families can plan effectively for this exciting event.

Dress Rehearsal Details

Dress Rehearsal is an essential part of the recital process. It allows dancers to familiarize themselves with the stage, lighting, audience perspective, and backstage areas. It’s also a vital practice run on stage while wearing their costumes. For dress rehearsal, dancers should have their hair and makeup done as if it were the actual performance. This preparation allows our instructors to assess and make any necessary adjustments before the show.

Specific dates and times for your child’s Dress Rehearsal(s) and Recital Performance(s) will be announced and posted online, so keep an eye on our website and communications.

Pre-Recital Parent Meeting Week (November)

During a designated week in November, we will hold brief 15-minute meetings at the start of your dancer’s regular class time. These Pre-Recital Parent Meetings are designed to discuss recital details, costume measuring, and the purchasing process. We encourage all parents to attend to stay informed.

Costume Distribution (January – March)

Costumes ordered in October are typically distributed between January and March. We will notify you as soon as costumes are ready for pickup.

Picture Week – Capture the Memories!

We dedicate a special Picture Week to capture beautiful group and individual photos of our classes and dancers in their costumes. Please note that there will be no regular dance classes during Picture Week to accommodate the photography schedule.

Our photography services are provided by B & R Photography, and you can reach out to Dan Getz at [email protected] for any picture-related inquiries.

Mandatory Parent Meeting Week (May)

Leading up to the June recital, we schedule a Mandatory Parent Meeting Week during regular dance class times in May. Crucial information regarding the recital is shared and discussed during these meetings. Attendance is mandatory to ensure everyone is fully prepared for the big day.

Ticket Sales – Don’t Miss Out!

We offer Priority Ticket Sales for our registered Take Five Dance Academy families, followed by Open Sales to the general public. Detailed information regarding ticket sales dates and procedures will be announced closer to the event.

We are incredibly excited for another spectacular annual dance recital at Take Five Dance Academy! It’s an event filled with joy, achievement, and unforgettable memories for our dancers and families. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to celebrate the magic of dance!
