Welcome to the Inspire Dance Competition! To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants, please familiarize yourself with the following rules and regulations. These guidelines are designed to maintain a fair, organized, and family-friendly environment where dancers can showcase their talent and passion.
Props Policy
Efficient stage setup and transitions are crucial for a seamless competition. Each studio will have 1 minute to set up and remove props, mats, or any other stage elements. This must be done by studio representatives. If additional time is required, please consult with the backstage manager in advance. Exceeding the time limit may result in penalties or additional fees.
For productions requiring more elaborate setups, additional time may be allocated at the discretion of the backstage manager. It is essential to inform the backstage manager of any complex prop needs beforehand.
To maintain the safety and cleanliness of the stage, the use of liquids, gels, glitter, or any substances that could affect the dance surface is strictly prohibited. Items cannot be thrown or projected off the stage front into the audience. Prop construction backstage is not permitted; please see the Stage Manager for suitable arrangements.
Safety is paramount. Performers are not allowed to stand on props exceeding 6’6” in height. Props taller than 10’6” cannot be guaranteed to fit on every stage. Please note that Inspire does not provide power outlets for props. Inspire is not responsible for any props left unattended or overnight at the venue.
Dressing Room Guidelines
Designated dressing rooms will be assigned to each studio. To ensure privacy and organization, all studio representatives, parents, dancers, and belongings must remain within the assigned dressing room space. Inspire Dance Competition is not responsible for any items left in dressing rooms during or after the event.
To respect privacy, men are not permitted in the assigned female dressing rooms. Separate dressing spaces will be provided for boys and men. We kindly request studio owners to inspect their dressing rooms at the end of each day, ensuring they are tidy, orderly, and all personal items have been collected. Maintaining clean and organized dressing rooms contributes to a positive experience for everyone.
Studio Hospitality and Seating
Inspire Dance Competition values its studio directors and teachers. A Studio Hospitality Suite will be available at each event, offering a quiet space to relax, enjoy refreshments, and coffee. This space is dedicated to studio personnel as a thank you for their hard work and dedication.
Furthermore, reserved seating will be provided in the front rows of the auditorium for studio directors and teachers. Typically, 2-3 rows will be designated to ensure prime viewing for these essential members of the dance community.
Family-Friendly Environment
Inspire Dance Competition is committed to providing a family-oriented atmosphere. Therefore, sexually suggestive dance routines, costumes, or music are strictly prohibited. Any performance deemed to contain inappropriate content or profanity, as determined by Inspire Management, will incur a minimum 5-point penalty.
If a routine addresses a sensitive subject matter that may not be suitable for all audiences, please inform the Event Director beforehand to allow for appropriate discretion and consideration. Maintaining a respectful and inclusive environment is a priority at Inspire.
Routine Entry Policy
Studios are welcome to enter an unlimited number of routines in the Inspire Dance Competition. All routines will be adjudicated by our panel of experienced judges, providing valuable feedback and recognition for dancers. We encourage studios to showcase the diverse talents of their students.
Re-Performance Guidelines
Re-performance of a routine will only be permitted in cases of technical difficulties caused by Inspire. In such instances, the re-performance will be for adjudication purposes only. If a re-performance is deemed necessary due to technical issues, please consult with the backstage manager for further information and arrangements. Re-performances are not granted for studio-related issues.
Video and Photography Rules
To protect the privacy of our dancers and the integrity of the performances, video recording and photography are restricted during competition routines. No video cameras of any kind are allowed during performances. The use of any type of camera or video camera during the competition, other than during awards ceremonies, will result in penalties. These may range from point deductions to disqualification of a routine or even studio disqualification.
We appreciate your cooperation in informing parents and attendees about this rule to avoid any misunderstandings or conflicts. Flash photography and video recording are permitted during the awards ceremonies, allowing you to capture these celebratory moments.
Liability and General Conditions
Inspire Dance Competition, its staff, the hosting hotel, theater, or competition site, will not be held liable for any accidents or injuries that may occur to anyone participating in or attending these events. Participants, spectators, and all individuals involved must assume personal responsibility for any unforeseen injuries.
Inspire cannot be held responsible for pre-existing stage flaws or unforeseen issues that may inadvertently contribute to accidents. It is the responsibility of dance teachers and studio personnel to inform their students and attendees of these rules and liability policies.
Inspire reserves the right to cancel any competition due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances deemed necessary. In the event of a cancellation, all registration fees will be promptly refunded. Inspire also reserves the right to relocate the competition venue if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances. Inspire NDC maintains the right to make necessary adjustments to these rules and regulations as needed to ensure the smooth operation and fairness of the competition.
We look forward to an inspiring and successful dance competition!
