Children’s Story-time and Movement Class

National Building MuseumThursday, May 9th, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Experience a magical morning at the National Building Museum with The Washington Ballet! We invite you to a captivating read-aloud of Alice in Wonderland, followed by an interactive Creative Movement class. Inspired by the beloved story and its ballet adaptation, this session is perfect for children to explore their imagination and movement skills.

Pilates in the Park

Start your Sunday with an invigorating Pilates session in the scenic Yards Park! The Washington Ballet, along with company dancer Samara Rittinger, presents a Pilates-inspired mat class right on the Riverfront. This revitalizing outdoor fitness class offers a unique way to energize your day while enjoying beautiful waterfront views. Bring your yoga mat or towel and get ready to move!

Children’s Story-time and Movement Class

Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum Wednesday, May 22nd, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Join The Washington Ballet at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum for an engaging exploration of identity. In collaboration with educators from the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum, this Storytime event delves into what makes each of us unique. Through movement, music, and interactive activities, express yourself and celebrate individuality. Be inspired by Aliza Nisenbaum’s artwork Mis Cuatro Gracias (Brendan, Camilo, Carlos, Jorge), enjoy the book Why Am I Me? by Paige Britt, and create your own art pieces.

This free event requires no registration. Meet us on the Plaza. ASL interpretation will be provided at the 10:30 AM reading.

Continue exploring self-expression with The Washington Ballet at the Hirshhorn Museum! This session focuses on how we express ourselves, drawing inspiration from Olafur Eliasson’s Your oceanic feeling. We will read Julián Is a Mermaid by Jessica Love, and engage in playful art-making activities. Discover new ways to communicate and celebrate who you are through movement and art.

CityCenterDC Plaza Performances

Thursday, June 6th – Saturday, June 8th Performances begin at 6:30PM

The Washington Ballet returns to the vibrant CityCenterDC Plaza for three nights of FREE performances! Experience the talent and artistry of The Washington Ballet company dancers as they present a mixed repertoire performance. This exciting event will conclude the Spring Dance For All season, bringing the joy of dance to the heart of the city.

These performances are free and open to all. Come and enjoy dance under the stars at CityCenterDC Plaza!
