My professional life story is one of evolution and continuous learning, particularly within the banking sector. For nearly 18 years, I’ve navigated the dynamic world of finance, primarily within two major banks. My current focus lies in Business Analytics, Measures & Metrics – a field I was drawn to organically throughout my career.
Initially, Retail Banking Operations seemed like my natural domain. However, my role as an Analyst in a Fraud Analytics team in 2005 revealed a hidden aptitude. I discovered an analytical mindset and the potential to cultivate valuable skills in this burgeoning field. Life then took a beautiful turn as I embraced motherhood, not once, but twice. While my career took a gentler pace during this period, my professional drive never truly waned.
Motherhood brought immense fulfillment, yet a yearning for renewed career momentum began to grow. I explored avenues to re-engage with the exciting “Analytics Carriage.” Finding strength in focused effort, I dedicated weekends and late nights to learning and upskilling.
“Learning” is a continuous process, an ongoing present participle in my life. While valuing formal education, I recognize that learning transcends the classroom. Every day, experiences offer invaluable lessons.
Returning to my career narrative, I immersed myself in analytical tools, seeking to enhance my capabilities for future roles. Crucially, I also began to cultivate “Networking” skills.
Previously, my approach was to be diligent in my job and maintain professional cordiality. However, I realized that genuine success required more. I needed to proactively connect with others, initiate conversations, discover shared interests, and build a robust network both within and beyond my organization. This shift was transformative. It opened doors to a community of inspiring individuals, mentors, and advocates who fueled my progress. Their belief in me became a vital source of strength.
Today, I proudly lead a team, yet my passion for learning and advancement remains undiminished. My career aspirations have expanded in tandem with my growth. I am committed to nurturing this ambition, striving to become an impactful woman leader in my field, now and in the years to come.
