Welcome to Legacy Dance Company! We are committed to providing a fun, organized, and enriching dance experience for all our students. To ensure a smooth and successful season, please familiarize yourself with our studio policies and procedures outlined below.
Studio Operations and Schedule
Holiday Closings and Vacations: Legacy Dance Company aligns its holiday and vacation schedule with the Cabarrus County Schools Calendar. Please note that we remain open on teacher workdays.
Inclement Weather Policy: Unlike area schools, Legacy Dance Company does not automatically close for inclement weather. Road conditions are often safe by our afternoon class times. In the event of studio closure due to weather, we will promptly post updates on our website, Facebook, Instagram, and send email notifications to parents. Always check these channels for the most up-to-date information.
Tuition and Payment Guidelines
Seasonal Tuition Structure: Tuition at Legacy Dance Company is structured on a seasonal basis, encompassing the entire dance season rather than individual months or classes. This consistent rate accounts for scheduled holidays, meaning tuition remains the same each month regardless of class frequency within that month.
Non-refundable Tuition and Make-Up Classes: Tuition is non-refundable. We do not prorate tuition for missed classes due to absences. However, to ensure your dancer doesn’t fall behind, we offer make-up classes. Please consult with your dancer’s instructor to arrange a suitable make-up class.
Monthly Tuition Due Dates and Late Fees: Tuition payments are due on the first class of each month. A late fee of $20 will be applied to any tuition payments received after the 10th of the month. Prompt payment ensures the smooth operation of our studio and avoids late charges.
Payment Methods and Returned Check Policy: Currently, Legacy Dance Company does not offer online payment options. Payments can be conveniently placed in the designated “red box” located on the office desk. Cash payments will be provided with a receipt. Please note that a $30 fee will be charged for any returned checks.
Costume Information and Policies
Costume Fee Policy: Costume fees must be paid in full, and your dancer’s account must be current before costumes can be ordered. Instructors will measure dancers and recommend sizes based on costume company sizing charts. Parents must initial their agreement with the chosen size. Please be aware that parents are responsible for any exchange fees.
Non-refundable Costume Fees and Payment Schedule: Costume fees are non-refundable. To make costume payments more manageable, we have divided them into three installments, due in September, October, and November. Costumes are ordered shortly after Thanksgiving break. Timely and complete costume payments are crucial to ensure costume availability for your dancer. Accounts not up-to-date may result in costume unavailability at a later date.
Class Attire Requirements
Appropriate Dancewear Policy: Street clothes and shoes are not permitted in dance classes. Specific classes have designated attire requirements to facilitate movement and instruction.
Class-Specific Attire:
- Ballet: Leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes are required for ballet classes.
- Jazz: Leotard, sports top, booty shorts, and tan jazz shoes are required for jazz classes.
- Tap:
- Pre-school & Pee-wee Tap: Leotard, sports top, booty shorts, and tan buckle tap shoes.

Recital Information
Annual Recital: Our annual recital is a highlight of our dance season! Recital dates will be announced as soon as a venue is reserved, typically in early June. A recital fee, due in March, will help cover recital expenses. Admission to the recital is free for all attendees.
Class Placement Procedures
Instructor Evaluation and Placement: During the initial 2-3 weeks of classes, our experienced instructors will evaluate each child’s level and progress. If an instructor determines that a student is not appropriately placed in a class, we reserve the right to recommend a more suitable class to better meet the student’s needs and ensure optimal learning and development.
