Snoopy Happy Dance! My BFF Zoey Got Asked to the Holiday Dance!

Squeeee!! Be right back, gotta do my Snoopy Happy Dance!

Okay, I’m back! And OMG, you guys, I am SO incredibly psyched!!!

Our school’s holiday dance is this Friday night, and I know exactly what you’re probably thinking. Yep, you guessed it, I AM thrilled because I’m going with Brandon.

Well, duh! That IS totally awesome! But honestly, that’s not even the main reason I’m doing my happy dance right now.

I’m actually doing a full-on Snoopy happy dance because I’m bursting with excitement for Zoey! She’s been feeling seriously down in the dumps lately because, well, no one had asked her to the dance.

Seriously, she’s been SO bummed and totally out of it that she’s been walking around like a complete zombie.

Just this morning in the library, it was so bad I actually took a banana out of my backpack, held it to my ear like a phone, and then handed it to her, saying all dramatically, “Your energy called, and it wants you back ASAP!”

I don’t even know why I didn’t just use my ACTUAL phone for that joke. I mean, fruit is funny, but not that much funnier!

Honestly, it could have been a diamond-encrusted iPhone ringing with a text from Harry Styles himself, and I swear she wouldn’t have even noticed…because she just grabbed the banana and put it on the shelf between The Giver and Harry Potter, like it was a library book!

I felt SO bad for her… until lunchtime rolled around!

While I was, you know, casually tossing gummy bears in the air and attempting to catch them in my mouth (professional gummy bear catcher over here!), I accidentally beaned this boy in the back of the head. (And for the record, his head was NOWHERE near my mouth… my aim is seriously the WORST!)

When he turned around, I totally braced myself for some major stink-eye. But then I realized it was Theodore, Zoey’s mega-crush, and he had this HUGE, totally dorky grin plastered across his face.

Then, get this, he actually said, “That’s a really beautiful sweater, Zoey.”

And Zoey, bless her heart, said, “Thanks. I like your…” and then she just totally blanked, like her brain had completely short-circuited trying to think of something nice to say back.

Seriously, seconds were ticking by, and it was getting SO awkward, so I had to jump in and coughed the word “shoes” – you know, subtly?

He was wearing seriously beat-up old sneakers, but someone had to say something to break the silence!

Then Zoey finally finished her sentence with, “…shoes. They look really…durable.”

DURABLE! OMG, I almost choked on air trying not to laugh!

He must have been just as nervous as she was because he actually responded, “Yeah. They are. Yours look durable, too.”

Then, and I swear this is true, she said, “Yours also look really…thick. Um, what kind of socks do you even wear with those?”

And he answered, totally seriously, “Um, just the usual kind? Unless I’m in gym class. Then I wear my gym socks. Because, you know, it’s gym.”

This was officially the world’s most AWKWARD conversation EVER! But guess what? None of that even mattered one tiny bit. They were totally gazing at each other with huge, googly, puppy dog LOVE EYES!

After that epic footwear fashion critique, Chloe and I decided to give the lovebirds a little space so they could continue their, shall we say, verbally co-writing the most boring book in history, Random Facts About My Footwear, as their own special, totally dorky way of flirting.

I knew giving them space was the right thing to do, but I REALLY wished I could have morphed into a potted plant or something and just secretly listened to the rest of their super riveting conversation! (No, it wasn’t the heavy-duty laces I was dying to hear about… I just had a major feeling that the conversation would EVENTUALLY get good!)

The SECOND I spotted Zoey in last period gym class, I knew something totally awesome had happened, because she was practically skipping down the court, and she was smiling so wide I could hardly even see her eyes!

Before I could even get a single word out, I squealed, probably way too loudly, “Okay, spill! What ELSE did you guys talk about?!”

I had a super strong feeling I already knew the answer, and yep, I was totally right.

Theodore asked her to the holiday dance!

I am SO incredibly excited for her!

If I could only get ONE single thing for Christmas this year, seeing Zoey this happy would totally be it… seriously!

(But luckily, fingers crossed, I can get more than one thing because I REALLY, REALLY want that sweet turquoise watch, Just Dance 2015 for Xbox – because dancing is life – and definitely a sparkly iPhone case!)

Squeeeeeeee!!! Happy dance, happy dance, HAPPY DANCE!!!
