Which Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Hot Dog Dance Reigns Supreme? A Deep Dive

You know, when you’re in the thick of things, like during baseball season, there’s just no time to really ponder those burning questions that pop into your head. Life is all about the game, and this blog usually sticks to that – White Sox baseball and related musings.

But now that the off-season is here, things have slowed down, with just a #108WeightLoss challenge and the unpredictable hot stove league to keep us occupied. It feels like the perfect moment to explore some of those deeper thoughts we haven’t had time for. Serious stuff, you know? And in the spirit of self-improvement, I present to you…

Which Hot Dog Dance is Best for ME??

Behold, in all its glory, all 6 contenders! Yes, there are six unique characters who bust a move in the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse hot dog dance at the end of each episode: Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, Daisy, Goofy, and Donald. Below, I’m going to break down each dance and try to figure out which one would be the ultimate “BeefLoaf” performance.

Mickey Mouse

Mickey’s dance is a classic – a double fist pump with bent arms at a 45-degree angle, combined with a kind of reverse high kick. It looks easy enough, but it actually requires a bit of coordination. It’s a pretty tame dance for the guy who’s always front and center, soaking up the spotlight. Mickey’s signature smug grin and that flailing tail really make this dance what it is. However, I’m not sure I can pull it off for a couple of reasons.

ONE – I’m not a smug, self-satisfied know-it-all who thinks he’s the leader of the pack and ALWAYS right about EVERYTHING.

TWO – Sadly, I lack a tail.

MOVING ON…

Pluto

Pluto’s dance is surprisingly cool and could actually be a hit on the dance floor. He does these alternating, directional power dives while cleverly rotating his head in the opposite direction. I can totally see this working with some funky dance music. He really uses his whole body, but it’s minimalist in a really stylish way.

This dog is a real blue-collar, gym-rat, coach’s kid type of dancer. Unfortunately, at my age, getting down on all fours for a dance move seems like a recipe for disaster. I love the creativity, but I just don’t think my body is going to cooperate. Maybe at 23, but at 43, it’s a no-go.

Minnie Mouse

This dance reminds me of something Elaine Benes from Seinfeld would attempt, with predictably disastrous results. Elaine, bless her heart, has the grace of a… well, a pet rock. Minnie’s dance is all about showing off her giant bow and those fabulous shoes. I’m not sure if I could even find heels in a size 15, but if I could, this might be a contender. It’s a great way to use dance to flaunt your best features.

Seriously impressive!

Daisy Duck

It’s almost funny that this was the first picture I found for Daisy. Because laughing at this truly terrible dance is the first thing I do every time I see it. I’m not one to criticize anyone’s dancing, especially since my own moves could clear a dance floor, but Daisy really phones it in on the hot dog dance. It’s literally just moving her hands with zero other effort.

This is exactly what the “cool girls” in high school who couldn’t dance would do (and Daisy is definitely the stylish one in the group, just saying). Just half-assing it because, let’s be honest, everyone’s paying attention anyway. That being said, this is by far the easiest dance ever, so it stays in the running. I could definitely do this lazy move, but I wouldn’t exactly be thrilled about it.

Goofy

Goofy’s dance is truly breathtaking. Pure emotion and maximum effort. It’s a full-blown athletic performance that pushes him to his absolute limits. He uses his long limbs and leverage to pull off the amazing hat-popping trick. This is a true artist at the peak of his freakin’ game. He’s completely uninhibited and just lets the music take over.

I would absolutely love to choose this one, but copying a master creator in his element feels a bit… wrong. Plus, I’m not entirely sure I could even master the hat trick that makes the move so iconic. I LOVE IT. BUT I’M OUT!

Donald Duck

Donald’s got this cool, robotic vibe going on, but he infuses it with a real energy and enthusiasm that I really dig. Plus, he keeps the rhythm going with those jumping leg kicks. This one would probably be pretty challenging for me to learn, but with a little practice, I think I could nail it. It’s definitely a strong contender!!!

In conclusion, I’m completely undecided. I can confidently rule out Mickey Mouse’s dance and Goofy’s dance for totally opposite reasons. I’m currently leaning towards Minnie’s or Donald’s hot dog dance to become the official BeefLoaf hot dog dance, but I need your input! Hit me up on Twitter and let me know what you think.
